The left parties have also strongly condemned the US and Britain for having totally bypassed the UN and resorted to this unilateral act violating all international norms.

The left parties have called upon the Government of India to come forward with a forthright condemnation of these heinous acts of the US and Britain .The left parties are extremely shocked that the US President , Bill Clinton has resorted to this illegal action just to divert attention from impeachment proceedings

The left parties have also appealed to the people and all other parties in the country to organize powerful protest demonstrations against the US aggression. The Left parties demanded of the Government of India not to make a feeble statement as it did when the same US, again unilaterally had launched aerial attacks on Afghanisthan and Sudan and condemn the latest aggression in strongest possible terms. The CITU, the Democratic Youth Federation and the women’s organisations of the left parties have also protested against the latest attacks on Iraq.

In response to calls by the Delhi units of the CPI(M) and CPI thousands of men and women demonstrated before the US Information office in Delhi in a show of mass protest against American imperialism .CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechuri, CPI leader Atul Anjan about 20 left party MPs joined the protest march and participated in the demonstration. Artists litterateurs, student and labour leaders also participated in the march . Besides CPI(M) leader Sitaram Yechuri , leaders of the Samajbadi Party and Janata Dal addressed a meeting there pointing out the American hypocrisy for the renewed attacks on the people of Iraq.
