UNCIVILISED AND BARBARIC

Jyoti Basu, Chief Minister of West Bengal has termed BJP as 'uncivilised and barbaric.' In a number of public meetings and Press Conferences, Basu categorically mentioned this term. Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, Prime Minister of India and Mr. L.K. Advani, Union Home Minister and other BJP leaders are very much unhappy about Basu's comment. At his public meeting in Calcutta, Vajpayee expressed his unhappiness and said in a defending mood 'Why is Basu calling us Uncivilised and Barbaric. As we were in opposition for 40 years, as we are the running government for one year.' Vajpayee also said that this was not the view of the people of India, but only that of the left.

But Vajpayee may be ignorant about people's opinion of the country as well as of the world. When we are stepping at 21st Century, ruling party and the government is busy with the demolition of a mosque and construction of temple. Sangha Parivar with the direct patronisation from Central Government are continuing their ghastly attack on the minorities. In one year, Christian minorities were attacked in 150 places. Bajrang Dal killed Christian Missionary Graham Stains and his child in Keonjhar. The report of the Srikrishna Commission was sent to the cold storage in which the role of RSS, Shiv Sena in Mumbai riot was exposed. They are always busy campaigning against 'religious conversion', even Prime Minister himself is involved. BJP's partner Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray publicity threatened Pakistan cricket team in connection with their visit to India. BJP and its wings are continuously trying to vitiate the atmosphere with communal elements. Apart from their corruption and anti people economic policies, BJP Govt. can be simply blamed for stepping back the entire nation and the country. The entire world is moving forward new millenium with the strength of scientific & technologic revolution. India needs to improve the level of living standard of the common people, reform the land Pattern, upgrade and establish the industries, protect the interest of workers and peasants, continue their research and developmental work. But leaving all of these targets, Vajpayee Govt. is engaged exclusively with Communal War. Vajpayee Govt may be unhappy over the term of 'Uncivilised and Barbaric', but this is the right term to expose the Central Govt. in the year 1999.
