The Delhi police which has failed in arresting the criminals involved in a spate of heinous crimes over last few months was quick in arresting those who were protesting against the growing crime rate in the National Capital Territory. The activists of several women’s organizations like Janawadi Mahila Samiti,National Federation of Indian Women,Jagori, Ankur, Shaktishalini, Action India, Sabla Sangh. demonstrated outside Home Ministry officer to express their anger against Advani’s total failure to contain crimes in Delhi. Speaking on behalf of the protestors Kalindi Deshpande president of JMS said that his own ministry has admitted that the Delhi crime rate is more than that of Mumbai ,Chennai, and Calcutta put together. She said the most alarming factor is that women and children are targeted again and again which gives a sense of total insecurity to every innocent citizen of Delhi.

Women were raising slogans like"Advani Haath Kyon Malte hai? Unke aage -aage aparadhi chalte hai" and "Advani raj ka kirtiman ,khatre me hai aurat ki jaan".

A memorandum address to home minister signed by representatives of all the organization participating in the demonstration was also submitted. It says that the appling rise in the crime rate of the national capital region of Delhi has put evey citizens life in danger. According to your own ministry’s data,Delhi, accounts for more incidents than Mumbai, Chennai and Calcutta put together. The category of serious crime ranges from theft, robbery ,decoity ,rape murder ,kidnapping etc. The most alarming situation is that women are the prime targets of these criminals. Whether it is housewife ,a young student or a working women, nobody feels safe in this city.We , the women s organizations of Delhi not only feel very concerned about this situation but hold you directly responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation as it is under your ministry. The central government has attained such a notorious reputation of not being able to protect common citizens, particulary women and children. The callousness of law enforcing authorities and the open patronage extended to criminals is squarely responsible for creating a sense of fear and helplessness amongst ordinary citizens. He said we urge upon to take immediate steps to ensure that all culprits of the recent crimes be punished severely.,they added
