
| NEWS NOTES CITU SUPPORTS LEFT CANDIDATES
Staff Reporter A s the countdown of parliamentary poll has already started, the working class under the leadership of CITU has decided to participate in the election campaign for left candidates. In the West Bengal State Council meeting, CITU has taken the programme to organise the working forces in support of the Left Parties. CITU believes that only the left forces can resist the liberalisation policy, which is directly affecting the interest of the workers. After CITU state council meeting General Secretary of CITU West Bengal Committee, Chittabrata Majumdar said, only the left parties are combating the polices of liberal economy. We can give a fitting rebuff to the defender of liberalisation policies through the mandate of the election. According to Mr. Majumdar, the state council has endorsed the issues of campaign, which includes the misrule of BJP Govt. in 13 months, economic onslaughts, communal attack and the move to divide the working class. CITU will publish a booklet covering the major issues related to poll and the booklets will be published covering sector-wise industry. CITU will highlight the policies and strategies of BJP govt. of destroying the public sector units. He has cautioned the workers about the communal forces under the leadership of BJP that are trying to destroy the unity of the workers. Congress has initiated the polices of economic reform and taken the repressive measures against protesting working class. In their 13 months of govt. BJP and its allies are following the same tradition of congress Govt. only the left parties in the interest of the workers could be supported for their consistent stand. CITU, West Bengal unit has appealed to the working class of the state to support left candidates and defeat the communal and anti democratic forces. |
