Staff Reporter T he Secondary Board Examinations ( Class 10)results this time, which were out on Friday, show a slight decrease in the percentage of successful candidates and the results have come out exactly 56 days after the exams were held. A total of 68.94 per cent of candidates have been successfulwhile the first place has been secured by Suman Karmakar with 761 marks from the Baranagar High School in Calcutta. The total number of candidates were 5,49,093 and the number of successful candidates is also less than that of last year. The distribution of marksheets hhas already begun. Karmakar, though naturally excited and happy about his result, has said that it would remain a dream unfulfilled that he could not beat the last year topper. As is the trend this year, Karmakar too wants to go into computer science as his speciality interest. On the other hand, Chetna Choudhury with 760 marks has stood second overall and first among the girl students.Studying in the Chintamani Chamatkar High School of Malda, Choudhury remains grateful to her parents in particular and to her teachers in general for her success. We wish them all the best for their future. |
