Mujahideens born of CIA-ISI operations
Trained jointly by the CIA and the Pakistan's ISI (Inter Service Intelligence) on
Pakistan soil across Afghan border in Peshwar and Quetta, several thousand Mujahideens are
fighting the Indian Army in the Kargil and Dras sectors. Even as the U.S. President Bill
Clinton carefully avoids his responsibility for withdrawing the Mujahideens from the
battlefront, the onus lies on the Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharief for pulling out
the Mujahiddens, Mr. Clinton wants to play the role of an honest broker for peace hiding
all the time the U.S. Government's role for funding the Mujahideen out fits with money,
material and what not. |
