NEWSNOTES
Mamata: Terror from fear
The Trinamul Congress-BJP combine is evidently on its backfoot. With no issues on hand, it is at the sole mercy of Vajpayee for survival. And thus has resorted to badmouthing, personal attacts and terror. The 'Tinangul' as it is known in the villages is striking to spread terror in West Bengal before the elections and Left Front workers are being attackes everywhere. The Party has become an umbrella organisation for antisocials, the creatures of the dark, and pirch sitting vultures.   The State CPI(M) has documented these atrocities and is in the process of sending them to the state administration and Election Commission.

T
he double speak is evident when Govindacharya, Malkani and others still talk of commitment of Sangh Parivar and BJP to these issues while Vajpayee and Advani play a different tune for public consumption for immediate electoral gain.

lbball1.gif (110 bytes)To save our country from disaster and disintegration more representation of Left Front forces in Parliament is necessary. If BJP comes to power the very unity of our country will be at stake. However indications are there that niether BJP nor any other party will get absolute majority.

Talking Point

Slander is just only one way to show where your tastes lie. In politics, speaking ill about an opponent is routine; when this degenerates into personal modliging, it becomes a war from the gukers. Trinamul Congress leader Mamata Banerjee has become an expert in gutter politics. An analysis
