Exit Polls
The Chief Election Commissioner was absolutely right when he asked for a national debate on Exit Poll projections. As a matter of fact there should be legislation banning such projection during an ongoing election process. A look at the head lines of some of leading news papers both at national and local level after the so called "Commissioned programme" of Doordarshan recently before third round of polling, amply illustrates the logic of the ban on such forecast when the election process is ‘on’.
