S.Ramachandran Pillai, president All India Kisan Sabha has sent an urgent letter to the chief minister UP on September 20 asking him to take stringent actions against BJP-RSS cadres who along with some criminals had attacked the cane growers-peasants sitting on peaceful dharna at the gate of Rohana Sugar Mill (Muzaffar Nagar Dist) on September 12 last. It is to be recalled that cane growers are sitting on peaceful dharna there since August 15th last for repayment of dues with the mills, for modernisation and against privatisation of Rohana Sugar Mill. The plan to attack the dharna spot was hatched in the election meeting of BJP held on that day approximately 200 meters away, which was addressed by Shri. Hukum Singh, parliamentary minister, government of Uttar Pradesh. Those criminals attacked with bricks, stones, and lathis and injured both old and young, tore the clothes, shamiyana and smashed the mike and fan. All these fascistic attacks were made in broad day light before the eyes of senior police superintendent Mr.Tahsildar Singh and Sadar SDM. Later on senior police superintendent, Tahsildar Singh himself started beating with his boot on private part of on innocent youth Shrawan Kumar, who lost his consciousness and had to be sent to Meruth Medical College hospital as his condition had deteriorated.

Com. S.R. Pillai has also demanded stringent actions against the guilty police and civil officials, withdraw the false cases, pay adequate compensation to the injured and accept the demands of the cane growers immediately.
