News Report

Present government has imposed ban on railway worker’s overtime & piece rate. Due to this action the workers wages decreased about Rs. 900 to 1800 per month. Cut travelling facilities and hospitalization facilities.

Pakistan Railway Workers Union is the biggest union in Pakistan and affiliated with All Pakistan Trade Union Federation.

15000 railway workers all over the Pakistan gone on strike on 8th December due to the decreasing facilities which they have got after great struggle. The workers still agitating against the anti workers policies of the railway management as well as the government. They are holding protest meeting before the railway officials and other government authorities. APTUF is supporting workers demand and practically participating their agitation. A delegation has been formed who discuss the railway workers demands with the Central Labour Ministry as well as the military officials.

On the eve of International Human Rights Day APTUF along with other federations hold a big gathering to protest against the ban on the trade unions and urge the government to lift the ban on trade union activities, restore the rights of workers as well as peoples according to the Constitution of Pakistan.

Railway Workers Union along with seven other railway trade unions holding a press conference in which further program of agitation will be announced. APTUF will informed you accordingly.

All Pakistan Trade Union Federation is a national and democratic federation in Pakistan. APTUF always struggle for the rights of working class and also very active for the moment of restoration of democracy. APTUF is militant Federation in Pakistan. Due to the struggle and safeguard the rights of working class its leadership was always harassed by the government as well as by the management. One leader from All Pakistan Trade Union Federation murdered by the authority and by the management in 1974, several leaders and workers have been imprisonment in different time on different cases.
