| International Terrorism International terrorism is increasing day by day. These forces are operating world over and to realise their game plan, which has no connection with the welfare of the society and the people, they do not hesitate to take steps like sabotaging, kidnapping, hijacking, killing etc. The assassination attempt on Sri Lankan President Chandrika Kumartunga with the loss of many lives by the LTTE, who was responsible for assassination of Rajiv Gandhi and hijacking of Indian Airlines plane IC 814 with 189 passengers and crew by the Kashmiri militants are two such recent major activities of the terrorists in Indian subcontinent. Though the groups are different, all such terrorist groups are well connected with each other. These groups are being organised, funded and used by the imperialists, who wish to establish their hegemony world over. These terrorist groups are also being utilised by many governments and political groups in many countries in their narrow political interests. These governments can not take firm stand against such groups. These groups are also operating with some sort of support from a section of people consciously or unconsciously. That is why the efforts to combat terrorism by the respective governments should be supplemented by the mobilisation of the people world over against international terrorism. The respective governments should be firm in their position against terrorists with proper administrative measure and to mobilise people against terrorism. Political parties and other social organisations also are to come forward and play proper role in mobilising people against international terrorism. 27th December, 1999. |
