Being failed to break the nation-wide united and continuous strike of the port and dock workers' even with the help of military, the government has ultimately came to an agreement with the five national federations. The strike has been concluded with written assurance from the government that the issues raised by the five national federations would be discussed and settled by 28 February at bipartite level. The government also agreed that no action would be taken against the workers for participating in the strike.

About 87 thousand workers, employees and officers in power sector in UP, despite severe repression like arrests, dismissal, threats etc., are continuing their strike against the decision of the state government for dissolution of the state electricity board and its conversion into three corporations.
