From India News Network(INN)

J. Chittaranjan, D.L. Sachdev (AITUC), M K Pandhe (CITU), R.A. Mittal, V Tiagi (HMS), Ashotosh Banerjee, R K Sharma (UTUC-LS) and Abani Roy (UTUC) has jointly issued the following statement:

A meeting with the central trade unions convened by the union labour minister Dr. Satyanarayan Jatia to-day discussed the issues involved in the strike notice given by the Committee of Public Sector Trade Unions(CPSTU) for a nationwide strike on 2nd February, 2000.

All the trade unions supported the demands raised in the strike notice.

Since the minister did not give any commitment on the issues involved in the strike notice, the meeting could not come to any positive conclusion.

We appeal to al the public sector workers to go ahead with the all India Strike on 2nd February, 2000 as scheduled.
