dentified for disinvestment

Staff Reporter

Government of India has identified 56 Public Sector enterprises for disinvestment with the target of Privatisation. Their plan is to reduce the Government’s share to less than 50% . This disinvestment action would taken even before the ensuing union Budget. Central Government has already finalised their disinvestment policy on AIR INDIA. Union Cabinet has also taken the policy of Privatisation for Indian Airlines and Indian Tourism Development Corporation. BJP Government is also thinking of Privatisation for the project making organisation like Maruti Udyog and Coal India Ltd. Recently Union Minister Arun Jeetlay has given clear indication on disinvestment through auction. Government has also decided to sell out the shares of Public Sector Units to multinational corporations. BJP Government in their short and incomplete term could not carryout their policies of disinvestment in the interest of Big Private and mutinational companies. But after coming to the Government for Second term Vajpayee government is taking concrete steps sacrificing the interest of government and the people of the country.
