NEWSNOTES
Union Budget : Package of burden to the common people
The Finance minister’s call to the country to be prepared for a harsh budget has now come home to roost. As usual, this budgetary proposal of Yashwant Sinha for the year 2000-2001 also is a package of concession and relief to the MNCs and big business lobby and the entire burden of "sacrifice" and harsh measures have been imposed on the common people and the working class.

President Clinton : India is not for sale
lbball1.gif (110 bytes)President Clinton is visiting India in March 2000. Normally a visit by the Head of State of a country with which India has good relations would be a welcome event and part of state-to-state relations. However, the Clinton visit is invested with more than usual significance. The United States of America is aggressively pushing forward its plan for global hegemony and India is one of the prime targets in this global strategy of US imperialism.

Talking Point

The best way to understand the incomprehensible is to simplify it in pieces, juggle those pieces inside your head and take a long, hard look at the new solution to the reworked jigsaw puzzle.
