President Clinton on his visit to India is arriving on 19^th March. This visit is not similar to other visit by the Head of State of a country.
USA is the most powerful country, which heads the Group of Seven. It is the driving force behind the imperialist order of globalisation and India is one of their prime targets. The US policies have harmed the economic interest and sovereignty of our country. It is an aggressive superpower too. The brutal face of US imperialism is seen all over the world.
To capture Indian markets and buy up Indian assets cheaply, they are successively pressuring the Government of India to open up the market and economy to multinational corporations and foreign capital. But they are regulating our access in their market with one plea or another. After the Pokhran tests, US Government imposed sanctions on India, but they themselves are mobilising nuclear weapons in their military base at Diego Garcia, which is within the striking range of India.
When the Vajpayee Government has amended Patent Act, opened up insurance sector to Indian and foreign private capital, 74 to 100 percent foreign equity is allowed in all sectors, privatising the public sector, liberalised import further and agreed to lift all quantitative restriction on imports, agreed to sign CTBT, accepts the need for a strategic partnership with USA and about to accept the internationalisation of Kashmir issue, the US Government has started lifting of sanctions partially.
Thus the BJP-led Government, sacrificing the interests of the country and the people, has materialised the visit of US President and this is being shown as their big achievement.
But the toiling people of our country are apprehensive of more harms from this visit. So they are rightly preparing themselves to raise their voice of protest to Clinton.
