The Centre is pressurising the CBI to set up cases against him and his chief minister wife, Rabri Devi, according to Laloo Prasad Yadav.Laloo has also demanded the recall of the Governor, V.N. Pandey and sia dhtta despite the false cases, there was no question of Rabri Devi stepping down from the post of chief minister.

Laloo said that the RSS and BJP were now turning the CBI into a vendetta weapon and said that he would even go to the Supreme Court to seek redress. Laloo told journalists in Patna that he and wife had an income of Rs 26 lakhs between 1990 and 1996 while the investigating agencies were showing it as Rs 11 lakhs only to prove that the income was disproportionate to their assets. He said that the income tax statements were also in order and that the NDA alliance which had failed to muster majority in the Assembly was only going through this charade to corner a legitimatise government and its first family.

Laloo said that he had already challenged the governor's sanction to the fodder scam case prosecution against him in the Supreme Court and that he would not refrain from doing so now too in the CBI investigations into the assets case. He said that the Governor had no right to give such permission.
